Dallas Stars Hire Glen Gulutzan, head coach of the AHL Texas Stars, as their head coach.

The 39-year-old will take over for Marc Crawford, who was fired at the end of the season after two years behind the Dallas bench.

Gulutzan has been coach of the Texas Stars the past two seasons, posting an 87-56-7-10 (.597) record and a 16-14 mark in the playoffs.

In the team's inaugural season in 2009-10, the Stars advanced to the Calder Cup finals. They made it to the playoffs this past season as well.

The Wranglers put together three straight 100-plus-points seasons, becoming the first ECHL team to do that.

He led Las Vegas to the ECHL's Kelly Cup finals in 2008 and the conference finals in 2009. He was named ECHL Coach of the Year in 2005-06.

He was the coach of the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL for six seasons, compiling a 254-124-55 (.650) mark
