Post Game 2 Reaction!

Let me set the scene. 7:13 left in the 4th quarter after Dwayne Wade hits a three pointer to put the heat up by 15. What pursued during the following timeout struck me as symbolic and represented, in my opinion, the iconic moment thus far of this wild Mavericks playoff run.

Walking off the court with a devilish smirk on his face, Wade struts over to Lebron who proceeds to punch Dwade in the chest as a form of celebration. That is when the Mavs turned the tables and made one of the most improbable comebacks in finals history.

Does any one else remember in game 4 of the OKC series after Durant hit his three pointer to go up by 15 how he ran back to his bench, with that same slimy-smirk as Dwade wore, while putting on the heavyweight championship belt? The Mavs did. And the symbolism shined brightly as the Mavs began to mount their unprecedented comeback.

Its ironic, is it not, that Lebron did to Dwade exactly what the Heat did to the Mavs all game. Body shot and body shot never quite able to land that decisive head shot to take the series by the throat. And the Mavs proceeded to remind the boxing community as well as their NBA foes that in order to truly obtain that championship belt, you have to land the kill shot.

Go Mavs!
